If you have a wireless modem then connect it up. If not then buy a ethernet cable, that hould do the trick. If you already have online and it wont work then i have no idea :)

  • Does anyone know how to link up a wireless router?

im not too much into technology so i need to know how to plug the wireless router and stuff. Plz help since i wanna go online with my PS3. My friend let me borrow it

this is my model http://www.google.com/products?hl=en%26amp;res鈥?/a>Does anyone know how to link up a wireless router?
First, plug your modem (cable or dsl) into the router using some ethernet cable. Once the power is on to both the modem and the router you can begin setting it up.

You can find a step by step guide here:

    http://register.wireless.utoronto.ca/?pa鈥?/a>

For setting up specific games and systems, visit:

    http://portforward.com/english/routers/p鈥?/a>

Which is a great site for pretty much any and all router set up. It has step by step guides with pictures.

Good luck!Does anyone know how to link up a wireless router?
I rarely click on links, for safety reasons, but when you got the router was it new, or was it given to you?

If it was new it came with instructions. It probably also came with a CD with the software on it, and setup screens to follow.

If it was given to you, simply go to the manufacturers website and download the software and the instruction manual. Read the entire manual first, so you have a clear idea what to do, and don't get the steps mixed up.

Go slowly, read each step carefully, and don't get ahead of yourself. It really is not difficult to hook one up. Here are the basics:

Place the router next to your modem.

Unplug your modem. Take the RJ45 ethernet cable from your modem, and hook it into one of the ethernet ports on the router.

Next, take the RJ45 ethernet cable that came with the router, and plug it into the proper port on the back of the router, then plug the other end into the place on your modem where you unhooked the other cable from.

Now, plug the modem back in and wait for it to fully boot up.

After the modem fully boots up, and all the proper lights are whichever color they are suppose to be, usually green, now plug in your router, and wait for it to properly boot up.

Now, pop your CD into your computers CD player, wait for it to start the application, and follow each prompt and instruction. Depending upon your ISP, you may need to add information, and you may not need to add anything. If you do need to add information, such as a User Name and Password, you will need to aquire that from your ISP, either by phoning their tech department, or by looking on the paper work they left you.

Let the installation CD finish up, do whatever it says to do, and then when it says you are connected, open a browser instance and see if you can get Online. If so, you are done.

If you wish to use the wireless access point in your router you will need to setup the security. You do NOT want an unsecured wireless access point, where anyone in the area can jump onto your Internet connection and use up your bandwidth. Instructions for doing so should be in the package that came with your router, or look in the manual your downloaded from the manufacturers website. It is very easy to setup.

    You setup security last.

Here is some links to get you going:

    http://www.linksys.com/servlet/Satellite鈥?/a>

Put in your correct model number here in order to be sent to the correct downloads. You will be given downloads for manuals, quick start guides, drivers, and firmware.

Here is some support from Microsoft on setting up a router:

    http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/using鈥?/a>

Good luck and much fun with your new network. Once you setup the router, and follow the Microsoft article on getting it all working correctly, you can add your PS3 to the network by hooking it up either with wires, or wireless. I reccomend using wired connections.

    http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/using鈥?/a>

The above link refers to an Xbox, but it is all extremely much the same. Game consoles have the same hookups, just as different manufacturers of DVD players, etc.

On my linksys I just hooked it up and my computer found the signal.

It then asked to hook up to it.

Very easyDoes anyone know how to link up a wireless router?
Good Buy. That router is really good. Well, how to connect, the lan cable from the modem to the computer goes into the WAN slot at the back of your wireless router. then you need to set up the connect. I say go to this link.

    it'll explain everything

    Good Luck
you should have a disc with it so you can install the soft ware that should then have the wizard on there too show you what to connect to what

    Playstation 3?

I'm planning to buy a game console, either PS3 or Xbox 360. The disadvantage for me about Xbox is, live cost money. The advantage for PS3 is online gaming is free. The main point is, I'm cheap. I need to find ways to save a lot of money. For example, it would be great if you give me examples such as, Circuit City's Thanksgiving Sales, when prices go extremely low. I also heard about the 40 gb PS3 coming out Oct. 12th, which cost $400. Just please give me advice about how to save money, and which gaming console I should go with.Playstation 3?
To save money when the parents give you lunch money just buy the healthy food and pocket the money you would spend on treats...THat would be 50 bucks over the 30 days, instead of going to the movies and spending money on junk food pocket that money as well.....Do chores for neighbors that your family knows pretty well, you could earn about 40 a week for light chores and for fall yard clean up you could earn way more...

Is there anything you could sell on ebay ...old toys etc... old dvd movies etc.... talk to your parents is there anything they want to sell on ebay and just don't want the hassle of listing it,,, you could sell things for them and get a commission...

PS3 is $499 and the Xbox 360 Elite is $479. $20 dollar difference...

PS3 games produced are on Hd 50gig blueray (more space for better graphics without sacrificing game levels and game size..) GTA4 developers even stated that the game will have better graphics and gaming on the ps3 version and are having issues with the 360 version because of 8gig dvd game format... They may have to make the 360 version on multiple disc so if you like getting out of your chair alot while playing, .....

360-elite games produced on dual layered 8gig dvds

game developers are finding the 360 format to limiting and finding that they have to sacrifice game graphics or gaming levels and challenges...

Ps3 for the extra $20 you get a full HD entertainment system that also surfs the internet. You can goto any website and watch or download videos like YouTube...You can access your email and print it etcc...

Ps3 Blueray hd movie player that also upscales regular dvds movies to HD...It also upscales ps2 games to hd..

    Ps3 comes with rechargeable controllers...

Ps3 comes with free online play and Wifi

All of the above the 360-elite can't do.

360 and elite -For hd movies you have to buy the hddvd player for $200. For

360 elite for quick charge kit you have to buy it for $20.

    360 elite no interent browser

Ps3 hdmi 1.3 (supports deep color)

    360-elite- 1.2 doesn't support deepcolor 1.3

Ps3 Nvidia RSX GPU Graphics at least two years ahead of it's time. And programmers aren't even close to using it's full potential yet.

360-elite is hardware locked into outdated DX9 graphics-Game programmers are developoing for DX10 (full 4d and 3d motion realism)

THe ps3 8cell broadband processors. CPU-Designed specifically for highspeed calculations (Games Capable of more AI charactors )

Xbox 360 -Elite-- The New 65NM CHip....Isn't any different then what they used in the 360 core except it cost less to produce....

Ps3 you can buy any external usb harddrive and hook it up loaded with music videos , etc...You can buy any brand 2.5 ata harddrive and upgrade the harddrive size for ps3...

    THe elite and 360 requires Microsoft harddrives only- for a 20gig it's $100, for the 120 it's $189

360 -elite for wifi you have to pay an additional $100 and online gaming is $50 a year...And for that $50 a year to play online you also get stuck with third party in menu advertising...

To use 60% of what the 360 and elite can do you have to buy the addons and you'll spend over $750 before you even insert a game.

THe elite and new 360s hdmi, 65nm, red ring of death--Microsoft has no Idea what the cause is, You can't fix what you can't find. So yes they are all vulnerable.

Get the ps3 you can use it for so much more. We own all three. THe wii, elite and ps3Playstation 3?
ps3 man, it costs a-lot but its worth it.
look into it man. the ps3 is the better choice by far.
If you're going to buy a ps3, wait untill it gets cheaper because it will have more games then. xbox live is a lot better then the ps3 online gaming, though. and xbox 360's have been fixed and they have barely any problems left to be fixed. plus, xbox 360 has way better games. so right now, xbox 360 is the better buy, but it can change.
XBox Live silver is free. XBox Live gold is the one that has a usage fee. Both charge you for a majority of downloaded content.
Im considering buying a ps3, being the owner of an xbox 360 and a wii i think it will fit in with my collection. Ive played my friends and it is GREAT! the controler is so light and the buttons are loose making it the ideal for sports games plus you can use the computer to charge the controler because the charge port is a usb mini type B and it pplugs into the playstation w. a regular usb plug. if the 40 gb comes out oct. 12th it will be just in time for me to get one. I think that you should get a 360 before you get a ps3 because it has better games and everything. Also if you have a psp you can also connect that and put on music and all. I would really recamend one or maybe even a used one from gamestop...

there are alot of sorces you can go to to check this stuff out...

How awful is the download time for Rock Band & Guitar Hero content on the PS3?

We rented a room out for a while, and our ';roommate'; had a 360. We used his 360 for a long time, eventually buying a PS3 for ourselves as a Christmas gift last year. The fast download times on the 360 must have spoiled us, or maybe PS3's online service just sucks... I dunno, but the download times for things on the PS3 always seems horrendous.
Anyways... now the roomie and his 360 are gone and we are left with Rock Band and nothing to play it on. Same with Guitar Hero. We miss both games. Our options are to just buy Rock Band 2 for PS3 (cheaper!) or to go out and buy a 360 for ourselves and then just get the new game without need for the bundle. Honestly I think we should just buy it for PS3 and save money, but the husband is pushing for the 360 elite (I think he just wants an excuse).
The concern is... how awful are the download times for content on the PS3?How awful is the download time for Rock Band %26amp; Guitar Hero content on the PS3?
All the content I have downloaded for Rock Band on my PS3 is done downloading before I even have time to see how much time is left. Make sure your PS3 network settings are set correctly. You can even try plugging your PS3 directly into the modem to see if it's a router setting that is causing it to slow down. Sony's online stuff is extremely fast for me, even on wireless. How awful is the download time for Rock Band %26amp; Guitar Hero content on the PS3?
I personally haven't noticed any difference in download times between the two systems. The one thing is that the PS3 will let you download stuff in the background a lot more than the Xbox will so you can keep playing while stuff downloads. Also, how often are you going to be downloading? Is it worth spending an extra $300 just to save a couple minutes in downloading?
dont have many diference...pretty much the same

How Do I FIND MY WAP KEY!!!?

i need it to go online with my ps3 but on the wireless router it doesnot sya the key and im with bt help quick! How Do I FIND MY WAP KEY!!!?
Log into the router using its IP address in your browser. For example http://192.168.0.1.

If you don't know this or its login info, google the model of the router and ';default login';. They vary greatly. How Do I FIND MY WAP KEY!!!?
WEP Key can be found on the router's setup page. You need to access your router's settings to get this information. If you don't have any access with the router settings, you may ask the person who configure your router. In that case, you may be able to retrieve your WEP Key. Mostly, WEP is just compose of either 10 digit characters or 26 digit characters.
I'm assuming you mean the WEP or WPA key. Most routers, you can type in http://192.168.1.1 or http://192.168.2.1 in the address bar which will let you into the router setup. there SHOULD be the key listed in the setup menus someplace, if not, you will probably have to reset the router and setup the wireless network again with a key that you know. Hope this helps. Best wishes.
If you dont remember it, just change it.

Control Panel %26gt; Network and Sharing %26gt; Manage Network Connections %26gt; rightclick your network and select STATUS %26gt; Wireless Properties %26gt; Security
