We rented a room out for a while, and our ';roommate'; had a 360. We used his 360 for a long time, eventually buying a PS3 for ourselves as a Christmas gift last year. The fast download times on the 360 must have spoiled us, or maybe PS3's online service just sucks... I dunno, but the download times for things on the PS3 always seems horrendous.
Anyways... now the roomie and his 360 are gone and we are left with Rock Band and nothing to play it on. Same with Guitar Hero. We miss both games. Our options are to just buy Rock Band 2 for PS3 (cheaper!) or to go out and buy a 360 for ourselves and then just get the new game without need for the bundle. Honestly I think we should just buy it for PS3 and save money, but the husband is pushing for the 360 elite (I think he just wants an excuse).

All the content I have downloaded for Rock Band on my PS3 is done downloading before I even have time to see how much time is left. Make sure your PS3 network settings are set correctly. You can even try plugging your PS3 directly into the modem to see if it's a router setting that is causing it to slow down. Sony's online stuff is extremely fast for me, even on wireless.How awful is the download time for Rock Band %26amp; Guitar Hero content on the PS3?
I personally haven't noticed any difference in download times between the two systems. The one thing is that the PS3 will let you download stuff in the background a lot more than the Xbox will so you can keep playing while stuff downloads. Also, how often are you going to be downloading? Is it worth spending an extra $300 just to save a couple minutes in downloading?

ok here we go, i'll start with xbox 360, yes it has so many games, but at the same time, there's only 4 or 5 people can actually name. it doesnt play blu ray and is slightly pixelated on non HD tv's. people say the online is so much better, but fail to explain how. if someone can, great 4 u. anyways, people say the xbox 360 has way more sales. DUHHH. it came out way b4 the ps3 and on christmas, and the price is way lower. xbox 360 has major overheating problems and the fan is so loud, u have to turn the volume up when it comes on. i have a friend who bought and xbox 360 and got the red ring two weeks after he bought it, then he got it repaired, got the red ring a day after it was fixed. theres more but i'll leave it at that

I prefer the 360. Its way better for playing with friends. The online community is large. The controller is also better in my opinion. Expecially for FPS's because of the trigger-like features. Mine hardly ever overheats and never freezes.

I bought it yesterday, got home and fired up my ps3, played it online and was astonished at how many ';kids'; were playing it and to be honest, spoiling online play with immature behaviour and noise, i do understand that they have been waiting for ages for this game and would be excited to play it but we mustn't forget that it's given an 18 certificate for a reason.
As i understand it, there are parental controls in place within the game that can stop some underage players playing the game online but i have to wonder how many parents buy the game without knowing what's going on or how to even set parental controls on a console.
Every time a game like this comes out, whether its COD, GTA, POSTAL, MORTAL KOMBAT, MANHUNT, PITFIGHTER - the list is endless, there are barrages of hate and horror aimed at the video-game industry for the violence used in the game, isn't it about time the finger should be pointed at the PARENTS for not taking an interest in what's in the game their kids are playing?
I'm not saying all parents are like this but surely there must be something to inform parents of what is included in the game that their kids are playing?
If there isn't, WHY?
I'm sure these parents would go and buy a bottle of vodka for their kids or buy them some pornography or horror film would they?

I'm 28 man, and I got the game yesterday. Nobody asked me how old I was either. I played the mission that gave the game the 18 rating, and I didn't see too much wrong with it. If it weren't for 9/11, it probably wouldn't be such a big deal. Remember, it's just a video game. When I fired up the game yesterday on XBOX LIVE, I had an update automatically, which brought up a screen that told me that a mission on the game could be offensive, and I can skip it or play it. Surely it is better for the children to play these games in a family environment where any questions can be answered about the game. I've had my Xbox 360 for awhile now. I've had it over 3 years and returned it over 5 times already. (I don't over play and I have a place where heat and cold can't touch it if that's what you're wondering. I play 0 hours during the week and about 6 hours during the WHOLE weekend.) Now, my Xbox-Live account got hacked...AGAIN...with 7 months still left. I really want the PS3 since I really don't want to pay another $50 just to restart another account.

Xbox 360 or PS3 Dilemma?
Ok, I have a pretty big dilemma.
I have an Xbox 360 and play it all the time. About a year a go in August of 2007 all my friends were like
OMG XBOX 360!! ZOMG!! IM GETING THAT!!111!!!LulZ!!!
But me, being a Sony Mark and a lover of PS1 and PS2 decided to be loyal and get a PS3.
Now, i found out how much PS3's were here in the UK, and i was shocked! But nevertheless i decided to stay true and loyal to my companion the Playstation and get the PS3.
However, my friends then started to say how crappy the PS3 is going to be with no games and the price etc. and after about 2 months of non-stop complaining i gave in and got an Xbox 360 on the 16 of October 2007. My friends then all got theirs at Xmas as i am lucky enough to have parents that have pretty decent jobs.
Skip forward to about 3 weeks ago. I have a friend who says ';ZOMG Look at this game for PS3, 256 people online at once!!!';
Of course he's talking about M.A.G: Massive Action Game.
And i thought thats pretty decent, wonder if they will make it on 360
';NO ITS JUST FOR PS-TRIPLE HAHA';
And im like oh well, its not that big of a deal its one game why would you get a whole 拢300 console for one 拢40 pound game?
The next day, that same person and all my friends knew about the game and decided that they want to trade in their 360's for a PS3. ....

Here are my problems with that:
1. Lag off 256 players? wouldn't that be pretty bad?
2. Price (yes it has came down but i don't wan't to waste my money)
3. What is the point in buying a console to get the exact same games for it? As i already love the games i have.
4. I don't want to trade in my games or console.
So now im going to be stuck on my own with a few other friends on the Xbox 360 while the others all play on their PS3's....

To be honest PS3 is slightly better but game wise Xbox 360 has a wider range of games and a larger base of premium games only available to xbox 360. PS3 doesnt have as many premium games that I know of.
I would choose xbox 360 anyday but the blue ray player might be interesting in ps3.
get what you want to get but let other people tell you to get its your money
get a ps3. i got mine at christmas, i never once wanted an xbox because ps3 is just better. ps3 has good games coming out and the multi platfrom games actually look better on the ps3 if you watch comparison videos.

I have an Xbox 360 and play it all the time. About a year a go in August of 2007 all my friends were like
OMG XBOX 360!! ZOMG!! IM GETING THAT!!111!!!LulZ!!!
But me, being a Sony Mark and a lover of PS1 and PS2 decided to be loyal and get a PS3.
Now, i found out how much PS3's were here in the UK, and i was shocked! But nevertheless i decided to stay true and loyal to my companion the Playstation and get the PS3.
However, my friends then started to say how crappy the PS3 is going to be with no games and the price etc. and after about 2 months of non-stop complaining i gave in and got an Xbox 360 on the 16 of October 2007. My friends then all got theirs at Xmas as i am lucky enough to have parents that have pretty decent jobs.
Skip forward to about 3 weeks ago. I have a friend who says ';ZOMG Look at this game for PS3, 256 people online at once!!!';
Of course he's talking about M.A.G: Massive Action Game.
And i thought thats pretty decent, wonder if they will make it on 360
';NO ITS JUST FOR PS-TRIPLE HAHA';
And im like oh well, its not that big of a deal its one game why would you get a whole 拢300 console for one 拢40 pound game?
The next day, that same person and all my friends knew about the game and decided that they want to trade in their 360's for a PS3. ....

after all that nagging last year that PS3 is rubbish, they decide that this one game is going to eradicate gaming history and rewrite it forever.
Here are my problems with that:
1. Lag off 256 players? wouldn't that be pretty bad?
2. Price (yes it has came down but i don't wan't to waste my money)
3. What is the point in buying a console to get the exact same games for it? As i already love the games i have.
4. I don't want to trade in my games or console.
So now im going to be stuck on my own with a few other friends on the Xbox 360 while the others all play on their PS3's....
Should i be a sheep and follow them and get a PS3? Or just wait until this phase is over and get the PS3 later i.e. next year? Xbox 360 or PS3 Dilemma?

wait - gears of war 2 is coming out next month - can't beat that!
To be honest PS3 is slightly better but game wise Xbox 360 has a wider range of games and a larger base of premium games only available to xbox 360. PS3 doesnt have as many premium games that I know of.
I would choose xbox 360 anyday but the blue ray player might be interesting in ps3.
get what you want to get but let other people tell you to get its your money
get a ps3. i got mine at christmas, i never once wanted an xbox because ps3 is just better. ps3 has good games coming out and the multi platfrom games actually look better on the ps3 if you watch comparison videos.

Xbox 360 have a much larger community. the consoles are still good..the online servers are much better than the ps3 ones yes xbox has red ring of death but it can be avoided by taking care of your console plus when you buy it you have 3 years Microsoft warranty.

guys i have 80gb ps3 i bought it 3 months a go and i bought with a far cry 2 game.i was playing that fine but now when i play online it stuck and i don't know how to fix it .the disk OK it doesn't have problem.the system is good to because it work on other games great.

Sometimes when the router is connecting, it fails and freezes up. Try moving your PS3 to another location, closer to your router, so you have a better connection. I had the same problem, and i moved it closer to my internet box/ modem and the connection was completely better.

i have had the same problem. what you have to do is take apart your remote. there is screws on the back. you just have to find the right screw driver. once you have it taken apart, take a look around the inside of controller and you will notice a small black button with a cover on it. take off the cover and press the button. put everything back together again and it should work.

Nah you dont have to have wireless, mine is hardwired through a standard router, i just plug it in as and when i want to go online. Takes about 10mins to set up your PlaystationNetwork account and your away. Good choice of console btw. I highly recommend downloading rag-doll kung-fu and Socom, only 拢7 and 拢20 respectively. I got the game Friday night.. i tried to sign up for PLAYSTATION Network but it said ';A connection to the network could not be established go to [Settings]%26gt;[Network Settings] and check your settings. Hi! I have a belkin wireless router and I have been gaming online with my PS3 for the past year. Recently I purchased a signal booster, therefore I plugged an ethernet cable into the router that went to one booster, and then i plugged the other booster into the wall and put another ethernet cable from that to my PS3. I had decent connection and no probems signing in until 2 days ago. I keep getting the error 80710B23 whenever i try to sign in! Its really frustrating because im trying to get to a high round on Nazi Zombies on CODWAW and it keeps signing me out so it wont register my score! please help!How do i fix the PS3 error code 80710B23? Should I get a PS3 or should I keep my Xbox 360?

I currently have a Xbox 360 (I bought it last September), but I was wondering if I should sell it and buy a PS3 instead.
My reasons are:
1) Twice as many of my freinds have Ps3s rather than Xboxs
2) Xbox live isn't anything special. it's good, but not amazing. seems the same as the PS3s
3) Ps3 seems to have better games now than Xbox. (A year ago Xbox had many more good games than PS3) I mean people think the best games on xbox are halo and gears of war, they are both good, but are becoming a bit outdated. resistance 2 has 60 player online.
4) the PS3 is supposed to have better graphics, or be able to have better graphics and gameplay in the future.
Could someone name all of the exclusive releases for the PS3 and Xbox for the future. I mean is Time Splitters only going to xbox 360 and will Star wars battlefront 3 only be on Xbox 360? does PS3 have anything amazing lined up?
Also, is resistance 2 better than halo, and is Motorstorm 2 better than any racing game on Xbox 360? The past with both of these consoles seems irrelevant because they are pretty much the same now. I want to know if the PS3 will be better in the next year.
Finally, Are third party games better on Xbox 360 or Ps3 or are they the same? I heard fallout 3 is better on xbxox but how can it be if tit is made for both consoles and the PS3 is supposed to be more powerful.

Secondly, do the research yourself. Look at the exclusive for each console and actually read about them and what they offer. I could spend the afternoon looking up and listing all the exclusives for each system, but titles won't tell you anything about the games or their content.
To address the online gaming issue, although it's a pay service, XBOX Live is FAR superior to the PSN. I own both and since I got my 360 (Owned the PS3 for a year first), I haven't touched it for anything but Little Big Planet and Blu-ray. It doesn't sound like you really used all that XBL has to offer. Did you have a gold membership?
Ultimately it comes down to what games you would like to play, and who you want to play them with. I can tell you that with PS3 sales continuing to slump and the 360 continuing to have record sales... far surpassing the PS3, PS3 exclusives will become harder to find. Lately when there have been 360 exclusives, it's been because the developers have either been frustrated with PS3 development, or have seen it as a waste of time. Where there have been PS3 exclusives, SONY has thrown money at them. I'm not counting Developers funded or owned by either, btw.
None of that matters if you truly do like the games on the PS3 and want to play against your PS3 only friends. Just make sure you'll be happy in the long run... do the research. Read about the games.
ps. You can get a Blu-ray player for under $200 these days, if you shop around.Should I get a PS3 or should I keep my Xbox 360?

hey their i have a netopia router and i am online with my ps3 through wired connection but i want wireless beacuse the wired is so bugging me anyway i typed in my ip address manually and the rest but when i went to test it it said dns error and some numbers how can i resolve this?Ps3 dns problem!!?

Xbox or PS3 Questions and comments?
I have had a ps3 since they first came out and love it. I just got an xbox for christmas. I have never really been an xbox fan but i figured id give a shot.
I feel like im having nothing but problems with the xbox.
1) Its a 50/50 chance that it will sign me into xbox live. It says im disconnected and to troubleshot by going to whatever ever website. So just for the hell off it I flip to next hdmi input for the ps3 to log online and no problem. Its so frustrating. I have never had a problem signing online with my ps3. I have had the xbox for four days and its coin flip if it will sign me in. I know its not my internet cause i have no problem with the ps3.
How the hell do you copy music onto the xbox? I do not want to do file sharing. I tried using a memory stick and wanted to save it to harddrive, but when going into system and memory there is no where that asks to copy the music you want, unlike the ps3. You stick the flash card in and hit the triangle button and bam all u need to do is it copy and it saves it to your hard drive. What im i missing on the xbox360?

I feel like im having nothing but problems with the xbox.
1) Its a 50/50 chance that it will sign me into xbox live. It says im disconnected and to troubleshot by going to whatever ever website. So just for the hell off it I flip to next hdmi input for the ps3 to log online and no problem. Its so frustrating. I have never had a problem signing online with my ps3. I have had the xbox for four days and its coin flip if it will sign me in. I know its not my internet cause i have no problem with the ps3.
How the hell do you copy music onto the xbox? I do not want to do file sharing. I tried using a memory stick and wanted to save it to harddrive, but when going into system and memory there is no where that asks to copy the music you want, unlike the ps3. You stick the flash card in and hit the triangle button and bam all u need to do is it copy and it saves it to your hard drive. What im i missing on the xbox360?

I am 14 yrs old and normally very shy, and I have a hard enough time talking to new friends whom are guys, mainly because of my different interests. I'm not much of a sports fan, except for hockey, I play guitar, I like classic rock, such as Jimi Hendrix, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Eric Clapton, Led Zeppelin, Van Halen, Pink Floyd, Beatles, Boston, etc.. And I bought a PS3 instead of a Xbox 360, so I only know like 3 other friends who have a PS3, so online play with most of my friends is out. But to sum it all up, I go to Catholic school, so most of my friends live far away, as opposed to public school, where everyone lives close together. And my parents are extremely overprotective. I have tried about everything to get my Ps3 to play online. I always Get the IP to Succeed but I cant get a connection. It lets me use the WEB Browser, but I cant go to the Ps3 store or play online. All the info I put in is correct. The only thing I can think of is the MTU ,which I put on automatic. First of all you need to make sure that your modem works with an ethernet cable and not USB.

Do you have a router? if so that should solve your problem if you don't that would be a pain to disconnect and reconnect. Your modem provides an IP address for each device that you connect directly so it needs to be reset every-time you disconnect which can be a pain.
Get router they're cheap now.

ok, i deserve the ban, in a way, but it was a joke which i didn't get to complete. i was messing with a friend, changed his password and while not realizing he called sony saying his email and password were changed, they banned me! this person who i was playing around with is my neighboor, and then i ask him the next day why it says i can't sign in, he says i called sony and the user who changed my p word is banned for a week, well i was banned once before on killzone 2 for glitching, and now, i can't sign on my main account or ANY account on my ps3, i can go on the internet but not sign in my user, he (my neighboor) told me that the guy who banned the hacker(i guess me even tho it was a joke) is banned for a week, tommrow is when i SHOULD be unbanned but this was my 2nd ban. is it permanent? please help im so nervous, if it isn't how could i EVER go online on a ps3 again?Please Help! abount Ps3 Banned! Hey, I am very keen to go online with the PS3 but since my internet is downstairs and my PS3 is upstairs I cannot do it wired. So I am going to set up a wireless connection. Here are some question I would like to ask.
1) I have an Acer laptop, a modem and on a wired connection at the moment. Will I only need a wireless router and the wires that come with it in order to set up a wireless connection?
2) Can I buy any router or is there a specific router that I need in order for the laptop or PS3 to read it? If so can you recommend any specific one's that the laptop and PS3 could read?
3) Since my internet is downstairs and my PS3 is upstairs would the connection be any good or would it be very weak?
4) Is it simple to set up a wireless connection, can anyone provide a step-by-step guide on how to set up a wireless connection?

Is there only one ethernet cord or two. Does your modem have two ethernet slots one for computer and one for the playstation. If one ethernet cord it simple. You cant use both at once with a single ethernet cord .I do exactly same thing unplug etheret from computer, plug into playstation. Is there only one ethernet cord or two. Does your modem have two ethernet slots one for computer and one for the playstation. If one ethernet cord it simple. Okay, so I got a card to download MvC2. I was so excited about it today. But the problem is, I can't go on PSN because I'm using a Mobile Broadband connection (Usb Modem to be specific). It's a Verizon Wireless USB760. I went storming on the internet trying to find different ways to figure out one problem after another problem. If it wasn't the access point, it was the Ip address, if it wasn't the Ip Address, it was the Dns Server, if it WASN'T the DNS Server, the signal was simply to weak. I've tried everything I possibly could with what I have, and then some!! I even tried to use a router as some sort of bridge between the computer and the Ps3 and using two different ethernet cables. (I'm on a Mac). I was thinking about just plugging it directly into the PS3, but I'm sure that probably won't work. And the only way I can redeem from the card is if I can go online on the Ps3. What I don't understand is ';How can my Wii work on the modem, and not the Ps3, What's up with that?!?!'; And yes, I did enable the sharing so that device can see it, and yes, I also connected the ethernet from the computer to ps3 and enabled the sharing on that. I went to OpenDns so that I could use there's, that didn't work. I just wanna Marvel Vs Capcom 2, I've never played it!! LOL! Any help would be appreciated, honestly.

PS3 Media Sharing Problem?
I wanted to use media sharing by using Windows Media Player 11 but lots of obstacles were on my way. When I select Media sharing via WMP11 (Arrow under Library), the PS3 network doesn't show up which means I can't allow PS3 to share files with my PC. I can go online on my PS3 using my router so it should be connected. When I go to http://192.168.2.1/ the PS3 network does come up without a name ( I know it's PS3 because it's the only hardware I'm connected via router). So anybody know what my problem is? To go online with the PS3 all you need is Broadband or DSL Internet. If you have just one Ethernet Jack to plug in the Ethernet cord, you will have to unplug it and plug the PS3's Ethernet cord into that same Ethernet Jack.
And if you have just one Ethernet Jack, and you want to make 2 Ethernet Jacks, you can buy a Ethernet Splitter.

You don't need to buy anything extra. The PS3 has an ethernet port and wifi capabilities. That means that you can either plug your PS3 in directly to your router, or you can use a wireless internet connection to connect to the internet. The PS3 will connect to the internet in the same ways that a regular computer will.
The internet browser on the PS3 is fully functional. I've used it a few times, and I've been able to watch movies as well as do a few other things I wasn't expecting. I bought a PS3 when I got my tax return, and it's the best $600 I've spent in recent memory. I've had it for a few months, and I'm still finding new things I can do with it. The 20GB version will require you to have a ethernet cable hooked up to your router.

I created the internal memory card I downloaded the PS2 System Data and I can't figure out what I do after that. Hi, I have a psp 3000 and I just found out about a hacked 5.03 (cfs) Hen A firmware and already saw a promising video. but I'm still trying to cope with the downsides of having it. here are some questions:
does it affect me going online on the store, internet or connecting with a ps3? are there any precautions?

Where and how do I get ISO PSP games?
Do I need a Pandora battery? in the video it did not mention one.
