2 players on PS3 ~Need for speed shift without going online?

IS there a way to go play multiplayers without going online or logging online, like a set up where I can play with my buddies at home??

If so how do I set up, etc.

Erm. Need for Speed shift Does'nt allow you to play 2 players offline. So buying another controller won't help at all. NFS:S only allows the player to play online w others. Hope it helps2 players on PS3 ~Need for speed shift without going online?
