My parents would give me internet for my ps3 just they don't trust me with having internet explorer, so if anyone could tell me how to block that in some sort of way but still be able to play online in games it would be greatly appreciated !
PLEASE HELP!Is it possible to block/disable internet explorer on a ps3 but still be able to go online?
YES, unless the right answer is NO!Is it possible to block/disable internet explorer on a ps3 but still be able to go online?
As far as i know, PS3s do NOT have Internet Explorer. Internet Explorer is a built-in component of Microsoft Windows. If you're talking about having IE on your computer, my mistake. And no, you cannot block or disable IE on Windows, since it's a whole entire component of it. To get rid of IE, you would have to remove Windows, which would make your computer not able to function since it has no OS (Operating System)
If your parents don't trust you not to visit inappropriate sites, their options would be:
1)Set up an OpenDNS account (opendns.com) and set the router and PS3 to use that DNS.
2)Set the router to block inappropriate sites.
3)Educate you on what is acceptable use and draw an agreement between you. You promise not to visit inappropriate sites and you stick to it. They can setup software to see where you've been on the internet and log any chatroom conversations and no amount of covering your tracks can stop that. Show them that you can be trusted.
Yes - you can!
By using the parental controls facility on the PS3, your parents can restrict you from starting the internet browser, whilst still allowing you to play online games. Take a look here: http://manuals.playstation.net/document/en/ps3/2_60/basicoperations/parentallock.html . They could also use the built in filtering facility to block unsuitable content only, whilst still allowing you to use the browser.
Hope that helps.
nope sorry, buy a 360
