How to set up PS3 online with wireless. Having problems!?
First off it was working fine last week.
I get to ';test connection'; all it says is:
Obtain IP Address: failed
Internet connection: Failed
this is unusual because i can connect my laptop to the internet with my linksys router and its further away than the ps3?!?!?
PLEASE HELP!
I redid the internet connection settings. I went through the scan and then WPA key and all that stuff. Then after I do that the connection is restored but after a few minutes the PS3 signs back out.
Do I need to reset my router settings and delete the old settings on it and start over. The lap top is working fine? How to set up PS3 online with wireless. Having problems!?
Well.. first off, try to totally put your PS3 off... (sleep, than back button, than the cable) If it still dont work, try to put the internet off (ps3-menu) and try again.. If this still won't work, try tu put off your modem/router... In the end, try to reset the router settings, and if even that won't help, try ask this on the PSN-forums...

Help Getting PS3 Online?
Hi
I have high speed internet (its cable internet). I have a modem with 1 jack for a internet connection, which I use for my PC. According to ';My Network Places';, my internet speed is 100.0 Mbps.
I don't know a lot about how Routers work since I have never used one before. I want to be able to run my PS3 off my modem which already runs my PC. I want to have them both connected at all times.
So basically my question is, what type of Router should I get ( I want one that won't lag badly or disconnect). I would prefer one that requires the Ethernet cables rather than wireless because I hear wireless isn't that great.
If I have to get a wireless one, is there an adapter I need to buy that goes in the PS3 to receive the signal or something?
Also, where do I plug it in, it probably comes with an instruction manual with that information, right?Help Getting PS3 Online?
look for a network hub where you can connect as many computer as you want
they are in different sizes :
3 computers at a time
5 computers at a time
8 computers at a time

depend on how much you need and you'd spend !

I've been told by Sony to try my ps3 online using a different Internet connection - help?
Well basically when I rang Playstation about some extreme online difficulties they told me to try the ps3 on a different internet connection because they think there may be something wrong with mine.
Because the online problems are extremely strange, and although the xbox 360 works fine with the Internet connection, I need to now connect it to another Internet connection. This will determine whether it is a problem with the ps3 or what.
But none of my friends/relatives live nearby. What am I going to do - how can I test this?
Help please.I've been told by Sony to try my ps3 online using a different Internet connection - help?
search using wireless and see if you can temporary 'borrow' internet.I've been told by Sony to try my ps3 online using a different Internet connection - help?
1 IF YOU USE WIRER LESS use a Ethernet cable (cat 5) or the other way round
2 bring it to a internet cafe they will have internet (well of coarse)
dsl is slower than cable connection, which do you have?

I cant get PS3 online!!!?
ok i have a 60gb PS3. I have a WRT54g wireless router from Linksys also i have verizon DSl with the westell 6100. you know that little black box. So i go internet connection and when i reach the end it say Ip address timed out. With a 100% signal. Ok so i enter the Ip address manually and in the end it says i cannot connect to the internet and that it is a DNS error. How do I fix that??? Help. First one that makes this problem go away i will vote best answerI cant get PS3 online!!!?
did ur ps3 come with a internet cord if so jsut use that plug cord in to modem to ps3I cant get PS3 online!!!?
Well since you have DSL it sounds as though the DSL information for the account is not in the router. Open a web browser from a computer connected to the router, then go to the router's address, usually 192.168.0.1. On the basic settings screen there should be an option there to select my connection requires a login. Put your DSL information in those boxes, usually an email address and then the password for the DSL connection. Then test the connection from the router, it should work, if that connection works then set the PS3 to DHCP, you should then get a connection.
enable the DMZ on your router and then use the DMZ as your IP address on your ps3. that should work... email me for any other problems- yankeefan9874@yahoo.com
simple solution
enter everything manually after you scan and select your connection

Are you having connect trouble with COD3 for PS3 (online) ?
I have been playing COD3 online for several years....I even prefer it to COD4.
BUT over the last month or so I have started having connection problems. It started out with getting disconnected during games, then it progressed to games not starting up and then it went to not even being able to get into multiplayer mode. I checked everything even wondering if the disk had gone bad but then this post on a board gave me the fix. It details how to setup a router to let your PS3 be in a DMZ.
I felt I had to share it because when online I always see many other people disconnecting and reconnecting and I figure they may be having the same problem.
So sorry this isn't a question....just a solution.....from a poster called EyeDye.

Looking for a ps3 online expert!?
I am going to buy a ps3 with wi fi connectivity this summer. I was told that you need a router and fast internet to get online. I don't have a router nor broadband speed(And parent's refuse to get both). I heard you can get connection from your neighbor's wireless network. I have friends who live next to me and have agreed to help me. But how do i do it though?
Whoever helps me will be rewared with point's to the max.Looking for a ps3 online expert!?
Your internet speed doesn't need to be a super fast connection but a little faster then the standard dial up speed.
To connect you need a wireless router or modem and using that you can get a wireless connection.
You can use a ethernet cable if you don't have a wireless router or modem.
Yes you can connect to your friends wireless internet but the signal must be high enough and you may need to enter a password but only for the first time.
Extra info.
Your PS3 could have issues with your router if it's too strict if it's too strict if so you'll get NAT type 3 which is fine but you may have problems in some online games.
The higher the internet speed the smoother gameplay but you should be fine with a low one but you may want to upgrade in the future if there are gameplay issues.
We you first connect online you must follow the on screen props then download a update or two.
And most importantly you must I repeat MUST add me as a friend PSN SCARFACE-47
