How do I get my ps3 to share internet connection with my laptop?

My laptop gets its connection from a router downstairs and I have plugged my PS3 into my laptop via ethernet cable, I do not know what to do from here so I can go online on my PS3. Someone help me :|

Thanks a bunchHow do I get my ps3 to share internet connection with my laptop?
If you are wired you need to have a network hub (usually a router has a 4-port hub built in) or a network switch. You plug the router, laptop and the ps3 into the hub/switch and then both devices can access the internet. You cannon plug the ps3 directly into the laptop via an Ethernet cable. How do I get my ps3 to share internet connection with my laptop?
The PS3 needs to be directly connected to your hub, it won't work if you feed it through your laptop.

I assume that you have a wireless router, and your laptop if wireless. Most wireless routers have ethernet ports on the back, so there is three solutions:

1) Move your PS3 downstairs nearer to your router

2) Move your router upstairs

3) Depending on how your house is set up, get a really long ethernet cable for your PS3 and either feed it through the wall cavity to downstairs, or run it along the walls and down the stairs with trunking or tack in place with special cable tacks.

Hope that helps!
