How do i set up an online account the ps3?

I just bought a used PlayStation 3 from gamestop. I want to go online with it but it appears to be that the previous owner already set up an account and it asks for his user name and password. I would like to set up my own new account but i dont see the option of doing that. How can i set up my own account?How do i set up an online account the ps3?
Ok, first go to the very right where it says ';users';. There should be an option to create a new user account. Do that, then delete the old user account. Then on this new one, you will be able to create an online accountHow do i set up an online account the ps3?
on the xmb go all the way to the left and it should show the users of the playstation. hit the triangle button and select delete. then you can create your own profile. if this dosent work, try creating a new master account. you do this by going all the wasy to the left agian but i think its one up from the old users little icon thingy it says create a new account or profile. then your set.
I would say use the format utility (under Settings). Be careful, however, because this will format all of the data on the PS3 (game saves, profile, etc). After that it should step you through the process, but if it doesn't, just go to internet and there will be an icon that says ';Sign up for the Playstation Network'; or something along those lines.
Go to settings %26amp; format utility this will erase all the previous owners data,then connect to internet %26amp; Sign up to Playstation network.
