i just got an ethernet cable so i canm get online and play....but its not working. where do you plug in the ethernet on a computer and how do i set the whole thing up? i plugged it in the modem and put the other end in the ps3 but its saying its not connected. i went to network settings and tried obtaining an IP address (whatever that means) and its still not working. can someone please walk me through this?? i have high speed internet so i cant see what would be the problem. thanks alot.Can someone please tell me how to get online with PS3?
Okay it sounds like your using wired internet instead of wireless.
Plug one end into the back of the PS3 and the other end into a wall with an ethernet jack (not telephone jack)
Go to Settings %26gt; Network Settings %26gt; Internet Connection Set Up %26gt; Custom or Easy (If you choose Easy it should automaticly find your ethernet cable and go from there) (if you choose custom than you need to choose wired and it will find it that way)
Obtaining IP Adress.. means that it is trying to find your wireless router.
