How to get online with PS3 (PS3 problems). Please help?

Okay so every time I go to network connection settings and choose ';Easy';, It either has the IP address timed out or it asks me to put in an ethernet cable. It's so annoying and I dont know how to fix it!



Can anyone tell me how to fix it or how to connect to the internet on the PS3 an easier way?



P.S. I also tried connecting to the internet with an ethernet cable plugged to my laptop and everytime I go to Modern Warfare 2 game it asks me for an update. OK, but everytime I try the update it alyas stops at 2% or 36%.

stop trying to connect through a laptop and plug into the router with the ethernet cable for a wired connection , for wireless configure the router for ps3 use by enabling upnp and forwarding psn ports then add the ps3 to your home network then instead of easy choose custom and search for the signal then put in your password .

if you're trying to steal someone else's wireless internet instead of using your own home connection that's your problem.
