this is what you do. You unplug your ps3, put it in all oringal packaging, and send it back to whereever u got it from (try gamestop) because ps3 online gameplay kinda is bad.

you put in the game, start the game, go to the game option ';play online'; get online, play
It's easy, all you have to do is plug in the ethernet cord (or hook up wirelessly), put your game in your PS3, and select online play.
