What is better , XBOX 360 or PS3?

Could you tell me what is better online and offline, but don't mention about having to pay for XBOX live. I'm going to buy one of them but don't know what to get first. I want to get the best one first. Could you tell me what equipment you get with each console, including equipment not used for online and what the equipment does and how much it costs please. Could you also tell me what is better for GTA and if you can play XBOX 360 vs PS3 online. Thanks for all replies.What is better , XBOX 360 or PS3?

PS3 will win the console war, no doubt. Xbox 360 and Wii are so weak from technological point of view, that in couple of years they won't be capable of dealing with serious graphics. GTA IV, for instance, isn't even announced for Wii - this toy won't be able to cope with the game's requirements. Xbox 360 is getting GTA IV, however, the game is going to be released on several DVDs - Xbox 360 owners will have to interrupt gaming process and switch discs (Rockstar complained about this issue). Only PS3 will have it on single BD-DVD.



Let's compare PS3 and XBOX 360:



1). A third of XBOX 360 (33%) are malfunctioning right from the start. PS3 return rate is only around 0.2%. Despite some people say, that new 360 has no breakdown issues - just visit Xbox section of Yahoo answers and see for yourself an amount of complaints.

2). PS3 has 7 kernels in Cell processor, Xbox 360 -only 3.

3). PS3 uses advanced tech called Blu-Ray, one disc can store up to 25 (single layer) and dual layer 54 gb (in the future - up to 200 gb), Xbox 360 - regular dual layer DVD-9 (8.5GB). It's possible to get HD-DVD (max. - 30GB) for 360, but it'll cost you around 50$. Besides, HD-DVD had lost the format war with Blu-ray. Toshiba had stopped to manufacture them, Microsoft too.

5). PS3 has full media support - USBs, built-in 4 slots card reader (except 20GB and 40GB versions), ability to use printer and so on.

8). From the first technical sight - graphics are stronger in 360 (it has a stronger graphics chip - Xenos), BUT PS3 can use it's Cell CPU for graphics too, which gives you better graphics in total. PS3 uses a weaker RSX chip, that was developed by Nvidia exclusively for PS3. RSX runs on 550 Mhz. It's difficult to compare their graphics, because 360 has a video chip with totally different structure and operating memory is divided differently in both consoles. Xbox isn't that versatile in dividing tasks between CPU and GPU as PS3. That's why PS3 exclusives look better than 360's exclusives.

9). Xbox 360 is widely known for so-called ';red ring of death'; problem - it gets overheated easily. My PS3 was running for more than 15 hours non-stop with no problems. Sometimes Xbox 360 becomes so overheated, that thermopaste on CPU melts, drips on motherboard and successfully shortcircuits it. That's why in some countries people call Xbox 360 ';Coffin 360';.

11). PS3 online is free, Xbox 360 - you have to pay.

12). There were reports, that 360 scratches discs. No reports on that in PS3.

13). The funniest thing, that right now there are no games for PS3, that show full potential of the console. Biggest games weigh only 25 GB (Xbox 360 will need more than 3 discs even for those).

14). On PS3 you can install other OS, such as Linux Yellow Dog, Ubuntu and others. Sony officially lets you do it. There is no such thing in 360.

15). PS3 HDD can be replaced easily with any 2.5'; SATA 5400 RPM HDD (used in laptops). 250 GB will cost you around 170$. In 360 you have to buy exclusive HDD, where 20GB will cost you 100$.

16).Sony expects PS3 to stay on the market for, at least, 7-10 years. Also Sony reduces price now. There is a cheaper 40GB version of PS3.

17).Sony constantly upgrades PS3 software (free updates for OS) - you get new functions and improvements.

18). PS3 controller (sixaxis) has a motion control - you move controller - game responds. Wii has it, Xbox 360 - doesn't. PS3 is getting rumble controller (Dualshock 3) on 15.04.2008, Japan already has it. On www.ebay.com I saw those controllers on sale 50$ and up (unofficial import).

19).On PS3 you can help sick people by running Folding Home project. Wii and Xbox 360 didn't even think about it.

20).New 40GB is 399$ or 399 euro (depends on the region) - it has no backwards compatibility with PS2 games, has 2 USBs instead of 4, no built-in card reader, but it's the same PS3, strong, reliable, less noisy, different cooling system. The price is friendly.

21). But, to be just, I'm not a PS3 fanboy, so (despite I own one) hear this - PS3 games (exclusives) are very hard to develop due to complicated Cell's architecture. We have to wait till developers will figure out how to develop games properly. Sometimes multiplatform games run not so good on PS3 due to the same developing issues - it's hard for developers to get a grip on such advanced technologies.What is better , XBOX 360 or PS3?
Xbox 360 have much better games and online gameplay, but with the 360 you need to pay a couple of pounds a month to play online. Also Xbox 360s dont tend to last long but there is a 3 year warruntee. You cannot have Xbox 360 vs PS3(that would be fun though). GTA is probably the same for both consoles but the PS3 have a slight advantage on graphics. I have a Xbox 360 and i really like it but i do know loads of people who have PS3 and really like it.

Equipment wise everything comes with the PS3 apart from a headset(i think u may have to check) and the 360 comes with everything you need if you buy the premium version and elite version. But if you buy the core version you will need a harddrive for online play.

They are both really great consoles and there are many arguments for both so it's very hard to say which is better.
360 is much better. The online has many more features (acheiments, cross game chat, etc.) than the PS3.



In the box you get the power cords (with power brick), controller, and the xbox 360 itself (you might also get additional stuff, depending on the model). I think that you also get an xbox live silver subscription (you can do everything online except play online).



As for GTA, again, the 360 wins. EGM Magazine did a comparison (EGM #229) and said the 360 wins because of one reason: DLC (downloadable content). Only the 360 is getting DLC for GTA. Also, on the 360, you get acheivments.

By the way, live rarely ever lags and the controllers are responsive (I play COD4 and GTA4 all the time and have no problem with either).
XBOX started out better with it's online service and all that. However, they seem to be getting desperate what with their avatar system coming out in that new update. I've heard a lot of fanboys complaining about it and buying PS3's so I'm sticking with my PS3. Plus, I hate the XBOX controller. So rigid and clunky. There's also quite a delayed response on the joysticks which annoys me so badly on Call of Duty 4. Just because they were off the mark quicker, doesn't mean they'll win the race. Think of it as the tortoise and the hare. Sony being the tortoise of course.
the ps3 all the way the online for one is free ( not as good as XBL but not as bad as fanboys make it sound) it also has a decent internet browser if you want to check your myspace or even go on youtube which 360 doesnt have even for the fee they charge you monthly. the ps3 will be getting over 75 exclusives before the end of 2008 and killzone 2 is coming in february only for ps3. the controllers are rechargeable while playing via the usb slots. there is built in wi fi straight out of the box unlike the 360 that requires you to buy a $100 wi fi adapter that has to be microsoft licensed or it will void any warranty you have. also the 360 was rushed out in 06 too fast cuz microsoft wanted it out for xmas even though it had problems still not handeled almost 3 years later while sony took their time and made a solution to every problem the ps3 could face its ur choice but i hope i helped you make your decision
PS3 ALL THE WAY MAN HERES WHY, on ps3 you can play blu ray you can download music you can play games and some games with the remote is wireless :) its like wii when you do this you just use control flat out and turn diff directions... thats only for certain parts on certain games tho like ratchet and clank fute tools of distruction.... anyway gl hope this answers your question.
xbox 360 because it has better online and better controller but i would get the ps3 just for some of the exclusives they have for it like metal gear and killzone 2 ect... if you like bluray,motion detecting controllers,and ';slightly'; better graphics ps3 is for you.
I think that the xbox 360 has better games, though the ps3 is more reliable, no ring of death. And no, you can't play 360 vs. ps3 online. I recommend the xbox 360 for GTA to start off. If it doesn't work out, take it back and get a ps3. Have fun.
Xbox has better online, both consoles are good just that it depends on what type of games you play. I just prefer PS3 cause I like sony. Also cause it can be used as a blu ray player when those things are expensive...so buying a ps3 saved me money.
PS3 for sure in the long it is going to beat down XBOX 360.

The only thing that XBOX has that PS3 doesn't have is a big fat checkbook that will buy any exclusive game for any amount of money. Cheers!
Xbox 360 all the way better online MSN is intergrated with the 360 ps3 doesn't have as good of a messanger tyhe controls on the 360 are better and the 360 is jsut all around better....
Xbox 360. There are more people playing online for the 360. I would get a headset with it, and maybe some games. I like GTA on the 360 best. You cannot play Xbox360 vs PS3 online.
