What will I need to play online with my PS3? Also, how do I start up and play online?

Badicly I have a PS3 with a controller and all the basics you get plus I'm going to be getting the COD4 because I've heard it's one of the best online games out there. But what will I need in order to play online? What will I need to buy? and is there is a step by step guide on how to start up online?What will I need to play online with my PS3? You may have to run an update first after you do disbale the Information Board that will appear in the top right hand corner of your ps3 menu by going to network thn scroll down to icon highlight then press triangle select disable....



How to connect to the internet.





Goto settings



Goto network settings



Goto network connection, select enable



Goto Internet connection settings just below internet connection-



Push yes when it says you may be disconnected



Select wired (ethernet cable to router) or wireless



For wireless use scan or enter manually



Follow on screen instructions.



Once that is set up return to main menu and go to network near the right



Goto psn sign in sign in create a game name and then once signed in goto the game COD4 then goto mul;tiplayer- then to online and you are all set

If its first time playing PS3 make a username at the welcome screen (this can be anything you want as no one will see this but you)



Next you need to sort out your network settings:



--Go to settings

--Go to network settings

--Go to network connection, select enable

--Go to Internet connection settings under internet connection

--Push OK when it says you may be disconnected

-- Click wired (ethernet cable to router) or wireless

--For wireless use scan or enter manually

--Follow on screen instructions.



Next go back to main PS3 menu and scroll to very right. Select sign up to playstation network and follow the simple steps on creating an online user name.



Once connected and signed into the playstation network you may need to download a firmware update for your PS3. Just follow the simple instructions given again.



Afterwards start your call of duty 4 game and again download any needed updates. Once this is done just go to multiplayer and then online play and your off!

You just need an Internet connection working with your PS3. The rest is pretty automatic once you load up the game in multiplayer mode.
